2021 Agility Trial Update

From Facebook:

“We wanted to provide a bit of an update on the 2021 Trial Season. We are working very hard to best determine how, when, and where we can move forward safely with our scheduled trials in coming months. We want to provide some insight into how we are making these decisions and what we are planning for to help keep you, our valued agility community, informed.

At this point, we have cancelled our trial scheduled for April. We plan to make a decision about the May trial by April 1st, and the Regional (scheduled for July) by May 1st.

Until the time at which we make a decision we will be evaluating the effect of state guidance and restrictions, stay at home orders, gathering restrictions, travel restrictions, CDC guidance, local Board of Health policies, etc. on the trial, participants, and travel options. We are planning to continue to hold trials at WWIS – and are working closely with them to keep things safe.

We are working on creating clear policies including mask policies (requiring at minimum 2 layer cloth mask that covers the nose and mouth correctly and not allowing mesh masks, gaiters, or other ineffective face coverings), social distance policies (including no spectators). We are planning to allow some indoor crating options for dogs only but will evaluate this as more information becomes available. We are planning to provide outdoor crating/tenting along the grass for safety. We are still getting up to speed on the food situation but we are anticipating that competitors may need to rely on curbside pickup or food delivery services such as DoorDash.

We hope to hold our trials but want to make sure that if they are held we are in compliance with all guidelines and provide the safest environment possible for all competitors. No doubt things will look different this year, we thank you in advance for your patience and support as we continue to evaluate our options.”

Memorial Day Weekend USDA Trial – Adding a Class

Great news regarding our Memorial Day Weekend Trial—yes, this weekend’s trial!

We are adding Miscellaneous class both Saturday and Sunday. 60 seconds to practice in a trial environment, with a toy, for $12. What a deal! Some of us have had 1 second Snooker runs that cost $15 and didn’t help at all with contacts, weaves or whatever else needed some trial-like training. But with the Miscellaneous class, you can get some actual at-a-trial training in.

Val Reiner will be judging Masters/PIII/Vets classes using the original courses designed by Dave Visniski. Thank you Val for stepping in! We are very excited to see Dave’s courses.

We are accepting morning of show entries for these classes. You can also email Val Duff at K9 Agility Services and let her know that you’re in!

See you there!

Title Mania

The USDAA has just announced the 2017 Title Mania event. We will be co-hosting with the USDAA one of three 2017 Title Mania events. It will be held next year at North Kingstown, Rhode Island on May 25th through 28th.

Here’s what the USDAA said, “For those who missed Title Mania last year, the featured event is offered as a means of recognizing those who excel in accuracy, consistency, and versatility in competition against the standards of performance defined in USDAA Rules & Regulations. Title Mania events are offered as a come one, come all events, which provides a once a year opportunity to invite your friends that compete in other programs to come and experience the excitement of USDAA competition without regard to previous accomplishments in USDAA programs. Mark your calendars for the competition nearest to you.”

We are very excited to bring you another high quality USDAA event with our experienced team! Stay tuned for judging announcements and more info.
